I'm managing a library of a couple of hundred PDFs - product sheets, info sheets, pricelists, etc, most of which are available both separately and compiled into a bunch of virutal binders that have a fair amount of overlap. Updating a single PDF is a major headache as I have to then edit every "binder" that includes that page.
Way back in the day Acrobat could be used to create virtual libraries in which a contents page could be created that accessed remote PDF files and displayed them as if it were one huge multipage document. As far as the user knew it was just one long PDF but it was extremely lightweight. This was a great feature as it eliminated issues of file sizes and it made it possible to update one page and have it show up in multiple overlapping catalogue PDFs.
Is there any way to do this with modern versions of Acrobat (accessible by Adobe Reader – which all of my dealers have – and not requiring Acrobat Pro - which none of my dealers have)?
