I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Adobe Reader XI. I also use a program ABCSpell that provides spell checking ability with Outlook Express.
I am getting a error "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." If I click to see what data is contained in the error report, the Error signature shows:
AppName: acrord32.exe AppVer: 11.0.2.0 ModName: abcspellhook.dll ModVer: 7.2.4.1 Offset: 00001177.
This error began on my machine at home almost a year ago. It seems to fail if I receive an e-mail with an attached pdf file. If I start Adobe Reader before I open Outlook Express, I get the error, but Adobe Reader does not actually shut down.
I read somewhere that running Adobe Reader in Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5) Compatibility mode would keep the error from occuring. Doing so does not fix the problem, but it seems to make it rather intermittant.
Recently, the failure started on my machine at work. They are both at the same Windows XP level and run very similar software. I have tried the deinstall and reinstall with no luck.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
