adobe acrobat XI standard crashing

okay after a few minute working with a file on adobe acrobat file I get this error message (below)

which forces me to close the program and if I haven save often enough you know the rest

This is not a cheap bit of software I am quite anoyed it is not performing as well as the previous version.
