Is there a way to "merge" 2, half page .pdf documents into a single, one-page .pdf document?

I often work with half page or smaller .pdf documents, and I'd like to merge these fractional pages into a single page so that when they print, I'm not using more paper than needed.  Is it possible to do this in Adobe Acrobat without cutting and pasting snapshots into MS-word, and then saving that Word document as a .pdf document?
