Difficulty posting PDFs for shared review

We are running into failures posting PDFs for shared review when those PDFs were generated with a product other than Adobe Acrobat.  This means all users can successfully post some PDFs for shared review but cannot post others.

First, let me say the suspected source of failure is just a guess.  This is the only difference I have found between the PDFs that will post and the PDFs that fail to post.

The strange thing in this is that if the PDFs that failed to post are re-posted using an account with system admin privileges they will post successfully.

From tracking the process it looks like:

1) selected the receiving server works

2) generating the email message regarding the posting works (but does not get sent)

3) The PDF does get posted to the receiving server (the file physically resides there)

4) When it comes time for the posting process to create the temporary comment folders, that process fails. As a result the whole process ultimately fails. No email is sent.  I know the PDF does make it to the server because if I try to post it again I will see a message saying the file exists and I am asked if I want to overwrite it or rename it.

The receving server is a Linux based server. I am not sure what version of Linux it is running.  The computers sending the PDF for shared review are running Windows 7 64-bit.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  We have found the shared review process to be extremely beneficial and want to make it a smooth process.
