I use Acrobat Standard on Windows 7. I have the Bridges package with other Adobe products.
I have large numbers of PDFs in various folders. Most of the documents have the metadata fields for Author, Title, etc completed. A small percentage do not have that information.
My problem is how to list the document properties so as to be able to confirm that the Title, Author information is present -- and then complete it if it is not.
The Bridges feature does list PDF metadata but not the Title, Author fields. Presumably the selection of items listed could be modifed to substitute Title, Authir fields in preference to what is currently listed. This does not appear to be an option.
I have found a third party product A-PDF Rename which permits me to eyeball PDF titles, etc. It aso allows renaming -- mainly in batch mode, when my need is to process isolated single items. I can of course open the PDF and edit the data through Acrobat.
It is possible that some feature I have not discovered woyld allow me to do this in Acrobat. It seems strange to me that no one else has expressed a need for this very simple feature.
