Cannot save scanned doc in Adobe X

Windows 7

Acrobat X Standard Version 10.0.0

When I use Adobe to scan a document, when I click save after it is done scanning, it does nothing. It appears to attempt to save it but it does not. I have to print to "Adobe PDF" and it creates an extra step I would love to eliminate.

Please help! What am I doing wrong? I have uninstalled and reinstalled and searched forums and the internet and nothing seems to address it.
